SecureGuard provides physical property security services in Singapore and operates as a security agency regulated by the Police Regulatory Department (PRD), Singapore Police Force. SecureGuard holds a Grade “A” rating under the applicable Singapore security agency regulatory framework.

This Policy is intended to be consistent with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (Singapore) (“PDPA”).

1. Personal Data We Collect

Our website primarily provides static information about SecureGuard and our services. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information simply to browse the website.

We may collect limited personal data in the following circumstances.

1.1 Information submitted through our Contact Form

If you voluntarily submit an enquiry through our website contact form, we may collect information such as:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the contents of your enquiry or message; and
  • any other information that you choose to provide in your message.

The information submitted through the contact form is not stored in the website’s database. Instead, the information is converted and securely forwarded as an encrypted email to SecureGuard’s email system so that we can respond to your enquiry.

Please do not submit highly sensitive personal information, including health information, through the general website contact form.

1.2 IP addresses and website security information

For website security purposes, our website uses Wordfence Security.

Wordfence automatically records the Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses of visitors to the website. This information is used for legitimate security purposes, including to:

  • identify and limit unauthorised access attempts;
  • detect and block brute-force attacks;
  • help protect against denial-of-service attacks; and
  • maintain the security and integrity of our website.

Security logs are retained locally on the website server for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted.

  • IP address and website security logs maintained by Wordfence are retained for up to 30 days and are then permanently deleted;
  • information submitted through the website contact form is not stored in the website database and is instead forwarded to SecureGuard’s email system; and
  • enquiry information received by email may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal claims, or comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

When personal data is no longer required for any business or legal purpose, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or anonymise it, as appropriate.

7. Transfer of Personal Data Outside Singapore

Depending on the technology and service providers used by SecureGuard, personal data may be processed or stored outside Singapore.

Where we transfer personal data outside Singapore, we will comply with the applicable requirements of the PDPA relating to the transfer of personal data and will take appropriate steps to ensure that the transferred personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.

8. Access to and Correction of Personal Data

Subject to the exceptions under the PDPA, you may request:

  • access to personal data about you that is in our possession or under our control; and
  • information about how your personal data has been used or disclosed by us within the preceding 12 months.

You may also request that we correct an error or omission in your personal data that is in our possession or under our control.

We may need to verify your identity before processing an access or correction request. We will handle such requests in accordance with the requirements and exceptions under the PDPA.

9. Accuracy of Personal Data

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data we collect is accurate and complete where it is likely to be used by us to make a decision that affects you or disclosed to another organisation.

If you become aware that personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact our Data Protection Officer so that we can consider and, where appropriate, correct the information.

We maintain reasonable security arrangements designed to protect personal data in our possession or under our control.
